Brandishing my Scottish Heritage membership card, I made my way to Dirleton Castle in East Lothian.
The village of Dirleton is quaint and pretty and completely picturesque. I immediately began plotting to find ways to retire there when the time comes.The castle is set in lovely grounds which boast the world’s longest herbaceous border. This must be a wonderful sight in the height of summer and even this late in the season was impressive in colour and variety of planting.
Some pretty flowers that came out well when I fiddled about with the settings on my camera.
